I've written more than 250 non-fiction titles for kids, as well as some fiction and adaptations of classic novels. I started my career creating educational materials for Weekly Reader Corporation, including content for one of the first online services, Prodigy. I've won several honors for my work, including a Junior Library Guild selection and the International Reading Association Young Adults Choices List. I am also the editor of The Biographer's Craft, the newsletter of Biographers International Organization. I've also written several dozen plays that have been performed across the United States. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music, cycling, photography and watching sports.
